STANDING up for Southampton would be a top priority for local Tory candidate Jeremy Moulton.

The 33-year-old grew up in Shirley and now lives in Lordswood.

He has been a city councillor for the past eight years and now wants be a strong voice for the city in Parliament, putting the interests of residents and the city first.

Mr Moulton said: "The election is not just an opportunity to change the government and put Britain back on track; it is also an opportunity to change the culture of politics in this country.

"We need to change the way we do politics. We need full transparency and accountability from our elected representatives and we need new people who will focus on the interests of their constituents and not their own self interest."

Mr Moulton said he will be fighting a "positive campaign" and has set out ten 10 pledges for how he would conduct himself if voted to represent Southampton Test in Parliament.

He said his priorities were fixing the economy to create more local jobs and investing in the health service. He said as a local school governor he was passionate about improving the city's schools.

Mr Moulton studied politics at Exeter University and took a masters in finance in Southampton.

He worked in the pensions industry for AXA Life in Basingstoke. He lists his outside interests as swimming and karate.
