JURORS have this morning heard about Paula Poolton's last known movements on the night she disappeared.

They were told how the 40-year-old left the Tesco store at Bursledon shortly after 9.30pm on the evening of October 17, 2008.

Before leaving the car park the Saints steward sent a text message to her friend Diane Mottishead saying: "You heard anything? X " at 9.32pm.

A minute later Mrs Mottishead phoned Paula back and the pair spoke for just over five minutes.

Prosecutor Nicholas Haggan QC told the jury that even though Paula was expecting to see Roger Kearney - who is accused of her murder - she did not seem in a particular hurry.

CCTV images show Paula driving out of the supermarket car park at 9.40pm. She is believed to have then driven eastbound along the A27 passing Swanwick Marina.

Matthew Cass, of the research transport laboratory, said a vehicle caught on CCTV at 9.44pm was "a good match" with Mrs Poolton's black Peugeot 206.

The prosecution alleges Kearney, 57, of Painswick Close, Sarisbury Green, left his address just after 9.30pm and that his Mitsubishi Shogun sports car was caught on CCTV at various locations including going past Harringtons Fish Bar in Swanwick and entering and leaving Middle Road car park at 9.40pm.

The jury was also told that at 9.46pm a vehicle, most likely to be Paula's Peugeot, passed in front of the same fish bar.

Another CCTV image captured what the prosecution believe was Kearney's vehicle in Duncan Road - where Paula's body was later found in the boot of her car - heading towards Swanwick station at 10.02pm.

Kearney denies murder.
