THEY rocked the place with their bright costumes and slick moves wowing audiences and judges.
Woodlands Community College in Southampton took a haul of prizes in this year’s Global Rock Challenge when they went head-to-head with thousands of youngsters from schools across the south to show off a choreographed dance routine.
Now the dance troupe have been handed the Global Rock Challenge National Award for the Most Entertaining Performance 2010.
The entertainers were given the Be Your Best Foundation prize after stunning judges in the Southampton heats and then in the Southern open finals.
Their routine “Funhouse” was praised for creating a “vibrant, colourful, energetic and entertaining production put across by a cast who seemed to enjoy it as much as the audience with some fantastic enthusiastic performances”.
The show was put together by dance leader Michelle Pearce and choreographer Kelly O’Donnell.
