IT was the holiday of a lifetime for this Hampshire couple.

After tying the knot in Chandler’s Ford last August Stephen and Louise Windsor went on a 10-day honeymoon to Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt.

Having taken more than 300 photos of their first trip overseas together the newlyweds carefully saved the pictures on their laptop with the intention of printing them later.

But laptop broke down they were left distraught after their Hewlett Packard laptop was lost by staff at PC World in Hedge End.

To make matters worse they were told that even if the laptop is found the hard drive of the £500 computer would be wiped so it could be sent back to a factory and refurbished.

Stephen, 35, a Southern Water worker, of Greenhill Road,Winchester, said: “I’m very, very angry and upset at how we’ve been treated. I’ve never been abroad before so for us it was a once in a life time opportunity and we won’t be able to get these photographs back.

“They said if they found the computer they would wipe the memory and use it as a spare. I thought it was a bit of an insult to offer us £50 compensation.

I’m not greedy but it’s just not good enough.”

The couple bought the laptop 18 months ago but sent it off for repairs after it overheated three times.

Stephen added: “I spoke to staff on the phone who asked me to back everything up. I told them I would love to but I couldn’t as the screen had gone blank which they took a note of.

“After chasing them for a month they told me they had lost the paper work for 30 devices that have all been repaired but have been sent back to the distribution centre.”

Mum of three, Louise Windsor, 36, a part time dinner lady who works at Weston Primary School, said: “I’m angry and upset that PC World have fed us such a load of rubbish and could not be honest with us from the start.

“It’s not just the honeymoon pictures it’s also pictures of the children and these can’t be replaced.”

A spokeswoman for PC World said: “We are very sorry that the lap top appears to have gone missing. We are looking into it and we hope to find it soon.”
