A COMMUNITY will tomorrow come together to pray for the man fatally injured in a brutal attack on their doorstep.
Members of Riverside Family Church in Northam, Southampton, will say prayers for the family of Shawn Williams, who died after being savagely beaten up on the estate almost a month ago.
As reported in the Daily Echo, he was taken by paramedics to Southampton General Hospital after staggering to a bus stop and getting help from a passer-by, but police believe he collapsed and died shortly after discharging himself.
The 42-year-old’s body lay undiscovered, close to a stream in woodland off Springford Road in Coxford, for 17 days.
The Rev Paul Finn, from the Riverside Church in Northam Road, just yards from the bus stop where Shawn had found help, said the tragedy has shocked residents.
He said: “Obviously the whole community will be quite shaken as a result of something like this, and will want to pull together so that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The community will want to rally round to solve this.
Since appealing for help in finding the murderers, police have refused to reveal details of any new developments in their investigation.
