BROWN ROBBIE Much loved Father of Alexander and Husband to Lorna. Following an extremely courageous and dignified fight against illness, Robbie sadly died 12th September 2010, aged 53. Not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not what was his church, or what was his creed, but had he befriended those really in need? Not what was his station, but had he a heart?, How did he play in his God given part? Was he ever ready, with words of good cheer, to bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not how did the formal obituary run, But how many grieved when his life's work was done? ---------- A Funeral Service of Thanksgiving will be held on 5th October 2010 at 11.00 a.m at St Marys Church, St Mary's Street, Southampton followed by a brief Service of Committal at Wessex Vale Crematorium, Bubb Lane, West End. In memory of Robbie's love, life, courage, dedication and service to others, please send donations to HELP for HEROES at www.bmycharity. com/robbiebrown243 or c/o J Lawrence & Sons, (Undertakers), 17 St Denys Road, Portswood, Southampton, SO17 2GN. ---------- Thank you to everyone who cared for Robbie and supported us all, particularly his friends and colleagues from the South Central Ambulance Service and 243 (The Wessex) Field Hospital (Volunteers) who showed Robbie how valued and respected he is. Faithful in adversity.
