He has serious life threatening injuries and has been taken to Southampton General Hospital.

Students from Brockenhurst College, who were on the bus, have been taken back to the school where they are being picked up by parents and are uninjured.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said engines from Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst as well as a special equipment unit from St Mary's station attended the scene.

The road is still closed to enable the recovery of the vehicles and drivers are being diverted to Beaulieu.
