Murder accused in court
A Southampton man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his partner in a city flat.
The body of Anita Bawtree, 34, was discovered at a flat in Napier House, Paynes Road, Southampton, in the early hours of Tuesday.
A post-mortem examination revealed she died from stab wounds.
Her partner Steven Waters, of the same address, appeared before Southampton Magistrates’ Court today charged with her murder.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday.
