A WIFE stabbed to death by her husband was due to meet her lover on the day she died, a court heard.

Colin Calverley regularly had sex with Maria Szarvak after meeting her on an adult dating website, Winchester Crown Court was told.

But the trial heard that by the time he sent a saucy text about seeing her at her home in Bitterne, Southampton, she had bled to death.

Prosecutors claim Maria’s husband of ten years, Sandor Lakatos, 38, argued with her and then murdered her on the morning of July 7 last year at their Harcourt Road home.

Forensic scientist Penelope Griffiths told the court that a “violent and sustained struggle”

had taken place, which at one point saw mum-of-one Maria being thrown through a back door glass pane.

Police doctor Nasir Ali told the court he found that Lakatos was mentally “well”

after his unsuccessful attempt to drown himself in the Solent before he was arrested.

Lakatos denies murder but admits killing Maria.
