A COMPANY that gets children with special needs to school has fallen victim to thieves looking for catalytic converters.

Three minibuses were targeted at K and K Hire, in Eastleigh, taking the vehicles out of action.

The business says this is the fourth incident in three years, though some were not reported to police.

K and K Hire owner Kevin May said: “They don’t care, they’re not interested, they’ve got no morals.”

The company, on Parham Road, is contracted by councils to take young people to schools across Hampshire as well as adults to day care centres in its 130 minibuses.

The catalytic converters cost £800 to replace and their loss led to disruption on Monday morning, though all the kids did get transport.

Police said it appeared that three people had arrived in a white transit van and removed the items between 7.45pm and 9pm on Friday.

Anyone with information should call Eastleigh Police on 101.
