A PATIENT groped an ambulance care assistant as he was being taken to hospital.
Andrew McHutcheon, 37, had previously met the mother-of-two when they had exchanged light-hearted banter.
But Southampton Crown Court heard that on the subsequent journey, McHutcheon made sexually explicit comments to her and as they arrived at the hospital, he remarked: “I have never seen an ambulance person blush as much as you.”
Prosecutor Rebecca Austin said that, after he got out of the vehicle, he walked behind the assistant and put his hands on her bottom, saying: “I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did.”
McHutcheon, of Cranford Way, Southampton, admitted sexual assault and received 18 months’ supervision with a warning from Judge Gary Burrell QC, who had read reports: “If you mess the order about, I will re-sentence you and I will have no option but to send you to prison.”
Keely Harvey, defending, said McHutcheon denied making the remarks.
