Animal testing protest staged Animal testing protest staged

CAMPAIGNERS against an animal testing laboratory are staging their annual protest.

Around 100 people are expected at tomorrow’s march and demonstration by Stop Wickham Animal Testing group against Wickham Laboratories. They will leave Christ Church Hall, Stoke Road, Gosport, at noon, march to the town centre and back and then go on to the company’s new Barwell Lane site.

Chris Bishop, Wickham Laboratories’ technical director, said they hoped demonstrators would cause as little disruption as possible.

I sincerely hope none of the protesters ever need medical treatment which has been tested on animals.

Dear Condor Man, with all due respect, Wickham Labs test a product very similar to Botox, which, as we all know is used for cosmetic purposes rather than medical. Be under no illusion that Wickham Labs does nothing to help find cures for human diseases. You might like to read this: http://www.buav.org/

If the protesters volunteered to test the products themselves the problem would be solved.

Would the problem be solved? Would it? Yes, if you have the same biological make up as a mouse or a monkey but you haven't. What a foolish, ignorant comment you have made. And where are all these cures for human diseases? There aren't any because human diseases are being tested on the wrong species. Would Foot and Mouth be tested on a human to find a cure for cow diseases? And has it not occured to you that animals in labs are subjected to horrific, unecessary procedures that prove nothing, that cure nothing. Tests that prove inconclusive, why? Because every species is different and has different requirements when illness occurs. Animals don't even get half the diseases humans get, so how can any test be reliable and worthy. Animal testing is completely wrong, always has been, there are alternatives to testing on animals, there is just too much money being made by the pharmaceutical companies for animal testing to end. What an absolute tragedy!! Do your research Huffter!!
