A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Southampton.
Gursamraj Khaira, 21, of The Polygon, Southampton, appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday after being charged by detectives investigating the hit-and-run collision on St Mary's Street last Wednesday evening.
The 39-year-old pedestrian was left with serious injuries after an Audi A3 mounted the pavement and collided with him. He was last night still in a stable condition in hospital.
A 20-year-old man also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on bail until December, while a 27-year-old man arrested was released without charge.
