Mike Hancock's Russian aide Katia Zatuliveter 'not a threat to security'

A HAMPSHIRE MP's former parliamentary aide accused of being a Russian spy, has won her battle to remain in the UK.

Katia Zatuliveter, 26, convinced the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (Siac) that she was not liaising with Russian spies while working for MP Mike Hancock, a member of the Defence Select Committee, with whom she had an affair.

Despite not being allowed to attend large parts of the Siac hearing - much of it held behind closed doors with evidence from security services spies - Zatuliveter convinced the panel she was not a danger to national security.

Mike Hancock is the Liberal Democrat MP for Portsmouth South.

I'd be interested in discovering WHY it was ever considered she might be spying for Russia- presumably some investigation was carried out?

But thank you Echo for pointing out that 'parliamentary aide' is a euphemism for 'mistress.'

It amazes me that she can be granted a visa to stay yet others with NO CONNECTIONS are packed off home even seperating families just because a child reaches adult hood.

It is a well known fact that Russian women prefer sober, successful, intelligent men regardless of their age difference and looks, and why.
Young Russian guys live for vodka and have more respect for their 4 x 4's than their women.

Some great humour on here as usual! But has anyone considered the distinct possibility that this panel might be a bunch of Russian agents, themselves?!

Yes, I agree. But Russian (and Ukrainian women too) do tend to have a serious bias mainly for blokes with plenty of dosh. I had to laugh once, a Ukrainian female friend of mine tried to set me up with a friend of hers, as in trying to persuade me to take her on as a wife. The way she described her assets to me was as if she was trying to sell me a prize sow at the market! Naturally being British and fussy I declined. "Oh and she has a great sense of humour too", my friend said. "That maybe", I replied, but personally I can't fancy anything with a fifth best in show rosette pinned to it's ear and a ring through it's snout... Apart from that rumour has it they snore in bed. ;-)
