A GRANDMOTHER who was said to have never got over the loss of her son was found dead at her flat, an inquest heard.
Winchester Coroners’ Court was told how Jacqueline Turner had been diagnosed with depression and had made attempts to take her life several times over the years.
The 51-year-old, of Loveridge Way, Eastleigh, died of a morphine overdose.
The inquest heard how both her daughter Sarah Young and consultant psychiatrist Dr Christine Platz thought that Ms Turner had never got over the death of her 15-year-old son from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1996.
She was discovered dead by her daughter, her occupational therapist and a nurse on June 21.
Central Hampshire coroner Graham Short said could not determine whether Ms Turner had taken tablets for her pain or whether she had deliberately ended her life.
He recorded an open verdict.
