A FEMALE pedestrian has died in hospital, more than two weeks after she was critically injured in an accident.
Jennifer Kimber was in collision with a car as she crossed Long Lane, Hardley, on January 6.
Mrs Kimber, 60, of New Road, Hythe, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
The car was a Skoda Fabia driven by a 45-year-old Blackfield woman, who was treated at the scene for shock.
Last night police said Mrs Kimber had died from her injuries on Sunday.
The accident happened on the Hardley roundabout, close to the entrances to Fawley refinery and Hardley Industrial Estate.
All five junctions of the roundabout were closed for three hours while police investigated the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the accident, or who believes that they may have seen Mrs Kimber just before the collision, should call PC Katherine Carr, at Totton police station, on 101.
