NEARLY £73,000 is to be spent improving services at two Hampshire libraries.
Around £50,000 will be spent on extending and refurbishing West End Parish Centre’s library.
Nearly £14,000 will be spent introducing a self service kiosk in a bid to extend opening hours.
Around £22,800 will be spent on introducing two self-service kiosks at Hedge End library.
It is hoped that the injection of cash will allow for current hours to be protected while volunteers are recruited and trained up to work alongside county council staff.
West End Library will need to close for around eight weeks while the extension work takes place with a temporary service rolled out. A time frame for the development has yet to be set.
