Broken down train causes delays

A BROKEN down train in Hampshire is causing delays for rail passengers this morning.

The train came to a halt at Fratton, resulting in disruption on South West Trains between Portsmouth Harbour and London Waterloo and between Portsmouth Harbour and Fareham, heading onto Southampton.

Tickets are being accepted on local bus routes. Trains are unable to call at Portsmouth at the moment.

It's news because thousands of people in this area will be wanting to catch trains that are going to be delayed - duh. How many other pieces of news impact more people more immediately than that? Doyou want to go through the entire site and identify any that have more immediate relevance? Perhaps we should cancel all the weather forecasts and traffic reports, as they aren't "news" either.

Blah-blah-blah train delayed whoopie....

Come on Echo cheer me up whats the latest bad news at Fratton Park. When are they going to get a points deduction, a good investigation into the FA dragging their heels. I'd buy a copy to read that. It could be a special headline "Fushed away at long last"

I think you are missing the point here. 'Hampshire trains all run on time for once', now THAT would be news. If the Echo reported every single train running late in Hampshire there would be little space for anything else.

I only hope they got a refund on the tickets if they bought them!
