IT'S not your average parking spot.
Motorists were this morning greeted with the sight of this car parked up against a monument in Southampton after the driver apparently drove into it - and then walked off.
Police are trying to trace the owner of the car who was seen getting out of the Toyota Starlet and calmly walking away from the scene in The Avenue.
The motorist left the car precariously perched on the side of the statue after the incident that was reported to police just after 6am today just opposite Southampton Magistrates Court.
An eye witness said they remembered the car going past them before coming across it having apparently driven into the stone memorial.
A police spokesman said the incident was being investigated and officers were trying to establish what had happened.
He added that police had attended the scene and the car was not thought to be posing a safety risk.

Why automatically blame drink? Maybe it's a Drugged driver? did they see the driver with a joint or a can in their hands?
If stolen this is a typical thing they do but normally it would have been torched as well.
If not reported until the police or newspaper release why not.
did the owner partake of a substance & lose control & walked away to claim on insurance?
Was it a joy rider who run out of fuel so ditched it?
To many times car accidents are automatically blamed on drink to many times it's not it's drugs or kids out for a crack & then wrecking it

Why do women always want to put drink before driving when its a Male driver how many times do i witnees lipstick/hairbrushin
g/nailfiling/texting
/or dancing and singing as i drive behind female drivers or even searching for cds as the one who drove into the back of me then blamed the sun was in her eye's well unless she was reversing as the sun was behind her so stop blaming drink till the facts are known to all. This driver may have been contributing to the absent Southampton WOW FACTOR.
