Royal couple to visit Cowes on Jubilee tour

The Queen will visit the Isle of Wight as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour.

Her Majesty will be accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh on a visit to Cowes on Wednesday, July 25.

The visit forms part of the Queen’s UK tour.

Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Major General Martin White, said: “I am delighted that the Isle of Wight has been chosen to form part of Her Majesty’s celebratory tour of the country and look forward to welcoming the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh to Cowes where they will carry out a number of engagements.”

The Queen last visited the Island in 2004.

I think she'll find that it hasn't changed much since she came to the Throne. A fair few of the guest houses probably haven't been decorated since the 1950s.
