Crash car may have been in convoy Crash car may have been in convoy

POLICE are investigating reports a car containing five teenagers that smashed into another vehicle and a garden wall was being driven in convoy around a town before the crash.

Two of the teens in the Skoda Fabia received minor injuries in the collision with a Renault Clio, being driven by a 40-year-old woman, who was also slightly hurt.

The Skoda driver, a 17-year-old from Shanklin, Isle of Wight, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the crash in Fitzroy Street, Sandown, at around 9.50pm on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old has since been released on police bail until April 2, pending further inquiries.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting Operation Faraday, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
