A Hampshire schoolgirl who suffers from cerebral palsy can now go cycling with her friends thanks to a charity donation.
Twelve-year-old Daniella Ballard now has an adapted £2,000 handcycle donated by the charity, Caudwell Children.
Daniella is unable to ride a normal bike due to her condition but the handcycle provides her with vital physiotherapy for building her upper body strength.
Mum Karen said: “It was a big surprise for Daniella and she just kept tearfully saying ‘I’ve got a bike,’ she was overwhelmed.
“For the first time she is able to go outside and ride around with her friends and join in with her sisters on their bikes, just like any other child.”
Daniella, from Four Marks, can use the handcycle through to adulthood.
Caudwell Children provides treatment, therapy and equipment to disabled and sick children
