Pony death

Pony death Pony death

A NEW Forest pony was badly hurt and had to be destroyed in a traffic collision at Burley Road, Burbush.

The animal had been wearing one of the special collars that aim to make ponies more visible at night by reflecting car headlights.

'destroyed' is a bit of a strong term for putting a horse down is it not??
And on motorists behalves ... Yes those collars are helpful in seeing 90% of the horses but from some angles those collars cannot be seen.

I'm always sorry to hear of ponies getting killed by cars, but I'm not surprised.
I often drive through the New Forest, and have encountered idiotic drivers on many occasions. I've even seen some drivers overtaking cars, despite ponies standing nearby.

What annoys me most though, is cowardness. Just hitting a pony and leaving him in agony without informing anyone, is the act of a total low-life

I wonder how the moves to impose various bans on bicycles are progressing

I believe the relevant authorities are making quite good progress.
