A man has been arrested after a woman was assaulted in Southampton.
The 30-year-old Southampton man was arrested following the incident, which took place in the early hours of this morning on Kendal Avenue, in Redbridge.
Following the incident, which happened between 12.10am and 12.30am, two women came to the aid of the victim, who later flagged down a passing police car.
Officers are now keen to speak to the two women who initially helped the victim.
PC Paul Osborne, said: “I am very keen to speak to the two passersby who came to the aide of the woman. “They may have vital information that could assist our investigation.
“If you are one of these women, or you know who they might be, please call us as soon as possible.”
