A STOKE Heath care home needs a talented artist to help with a painting project which is brightening up its surroundings.

Staff from Heathbrook House Care Home, in Worcester Road, opened a care unit designed to offer special care to residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, in 2009.

The care home staff have decided the corridors at the home surrounding the unit need brightening up for residents so came up with a scheme to paint them using three themes.

One of the corridors is to feature sporting memorabilia, another will have a shopping and boutique theme, while another will be based on gardens and the great outdoors.

A special mural is also being created on the first floor of the care home, which will based on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee being celebrated this year.

Volunteers have already begun work on the project, with staff and pupils from Aston Fields Middle School due to visit and help out later this month.

But the care home is appealing for an artist to volunteer, giving up their time to help lead the project and ensure it looks professional.

Anyone interested is asked to call Jeanette Lyons, activities co-ordinator at the care home, on 01527 882146.
