A THRIVING cleaning supplies business run by two ex-Hampshire footballers has swept up at the 2012 Toast of Surrey Business Awards.

Source Supplies, which is owned by Dave Piper and Ollie Rastall, pictured, claimed the prize for the best business with up to £1m turnover, having gone from £20,000 a month turnover to £75,000 in two years.

Mr Piper, who lives in Chandler’s Ford and was a Saints defender who went on to to play for Yeovil and Bognor, said: “Just being a part of this was a big deal for us.

To win is absolutely incredible and very humbling.”

Judges praised the “inspiring” business for raising the industry bar, with positive growth during difficult economic times and its impressive plan for continuous expansion.

I remember David Piper, I was senior Linesman at the Dell when he played in the Saints youth Team managed by Dennis Rofe in 1996 in the semi Final of the SEC Cup against Spurs, he looked a useful Player, good luck David, there's life after Football and possibly richer rewards
