WINCHESTER civic chief George Beckett has been cleared of a second complaint from a local businessman.
Keith Story alleged Cllr Beckett had suppressed information about a potential brownfield site near the city and failing to declare a personal interest.
However a council sub-committee has said there was “insufficient evidence” to support the complaint.
Earlier this year Mr Story, of St Cross Road, complained that Cllr Beckett, who runs a garden centre in Compton, should have declared an interest as he would benefit from the building of 2,000 homes on Barton Farm. That complaint too was rejected.
