AN inquest will open today into the death of a six-year-old who died after suffering a fit while camping in the New Forest over the Easter Holiday.

Isabelle Harris died in the early hours of Good Friday in Southampton General Hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest in the ambulance.

She had starting to fit at the Holmsley campsite at Bransgore.

The youngster's parents, Lee Harris, 30, and Tracey Harris, 40, from Gosport, tried to give their daughter CPR but were arrested by police on suspicion of murder.

The pair were released later the same day after a post-mortem examination ruled out foul play.

Police said the death had been a ''tragic incident''.

Mr and Mrs Harris released a statement which said they were devastated as the loss of the youngster who they described as ''our whole world''.

''No words are strong enough to describe how we feel at the moment.

''Isabelle was our whole world; everything we ever did was for her. She was a really special girl and this is a huge loss to everyone who knew her,'' it said.

The inquest will be opened by Southampton Coroner Keith Wiseman.

''The purpose of the opening is to formerly identify the deceased and record that there is no current cause of death,'' a coroner's spokesman said.

He added: ''Isabelle's family will not be attending.''

On theory is that Isabelle could have died from carbon monoxide poisoning from a barbecue set and further tests are expected to determine what caused her death.
