Inspired by Barbarella and a little bit of Bond, Spymonkey turn their unique brand of theatrical invention to this greatest of tragic tales in Oedipussy.

It runs at The Nuffield from Tuesday to Saturday.

u FRESH from a five-star extended run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Luke Wright comes to the Ashcroft in Fareham on Tuesday, presenting his darkly comic poems and bitingly hilarious tales of modern Britain.

Luke is the resident poet on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live.

He’s also host and curator for the Poetry Arena at the Latitude Festival and has written two documentaries for Channel 4.

This is his latest offering Cynical Ballards – Eight Caustic Tales from Broken Britain.

u TIDDLER and Other Terrific Tales is a brand new children’s show from the award-winning Scamp Theatre, adapted from the best-selling books by Children’s Laureate, Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler (creators of The Gruffalo).

This is a magical collection of Julia Donaldson’s most popular titles including Tiddler, The Smartest Giant in Town, A Squash and a Squeeze and Monkey Puzzle brought to the stage spectacularly by the team that brought you Aesop’s Fables, Stick Man and Private Peaceful.

Under sea, over land, on the farm and in the jungle, these tales are woven together with live music, songs, puppets and a host of colourful characters who will delight youngsters.
