Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after woman seriously injured in incident at Eastleigh's Alexander Square

Alexander Square, Eastleigh Alexander Square, Eastleigh

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was left with multiple injuries during a “dispute” in a Hampshire home.

The 27-year-old woman and her 19-month-old daughter are now in hospital after police were called to the property in Eastleigh in the early hours.

The victim has been left with what police describe as multiple “serious injuries” and is today in a stable condition.

A 45-year-old man, who was also taken to hospital after the incident, at a flat in Alexander Square, off Twyford Road, shortly after midnight, has now been arrested and remained in custody today.

Detectives were today planning to go house to house in the hope of talking to people with information about the incident, while forensic specialists were due to carry out a crime scene investigation at the flat.

The young child was unhurt in the incident, and is being observed by medical staff.

Anyone with information should call police, quoting Operation Belvedere, on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
