    As an aside a lot of us bikers also use additional running lights as well as out always on dipped beam, not main beam, to try and assist cagers is visually detecting us, in the few fractions of a second when they're not distracted by their toys or fags. As I taught for years, treat everyone else as a complete idiot out to kill you, even fellow Police officers, the marked local car drivers especially don't use indicators, as for the *un(i)ts in disguise (CID) who are so far removed from reality in their unmarked cars/vans etc, that's another story.

    Lets hope the rider in this case survives, too many stories like this..."

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after a crash in Hampshire.

The male motorcyclist was rushed to Southampton General Hospital following the accident where he is being treated for life threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Worthy Lane, Winchester, at 6.36pm last night.

The motorbike had collided with a silver coloured Ford car near to the junction with Park Road.

An investigation called Operation Ellingham has been launched into the accident and the woman driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Police issued an appeal for witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw the two vehicles shortly before the crash to come forward.
