The Victorian fort’s hospital, dispensary and medical facilities were designed using Miss Nightingale’s specifications, so visitors can discover how she transformed medical care and saved countless lives. Meet ‘Florence’ and take a trip to the hospital gallery where children will be able to view her medicine bag and its contents. At The Hobbit… Southampton’s very own family-friendly music festival and environmental gathering Environmental Rock is now in its tenth year, and has attracted hundreds of visitors every year with its unique mix of great music, local green groups and businesses, ethical food and drink, fun kids' activities and green products for sale. At The Museum of Army Flying, Middle Wallop… The museum is hosting a celebratory open day to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) tomorrow.

The event will also mark the official opening of two of the museum’s exciting new additions; a large outdoor play park and new interactive exhibition displays.

nAt Explosion, The Museum of Naval Firepower, Gosport… THE Falklands Day tomorrow, commemorating 30 years since the conflict, will be a chance to hear the full story of the Falklands War, meet several veterans and see many of the air and naval weapons used during the conflict.

Several veterans and experts will tell the full story with first-hand accounts of the conflict, supported by various documents, pictures and exhibits. nAt The Vyne, Basingstoke… LAST year, hundreds of visitors flocked to the National Trust property to see a rather astonishing sight. Old ladies were tucked up in historic beds, silent housemaids in mob caps lolled against doorways, and a bikini-clad blonde lay stretched out on the lawn. These quirky figures were just some of the participants in The Vyne’s first ever Scarecrow Festival – a community project that included entries from local schools and children’s groups. The event was such a success that it is being repeated, from tomorrow until May 27 and the theme is – The Olympics!
