Children claim world paper hat-wearing record

Young carers don their hats.
MORE than 800 children are claiming a new world record for the largest group of people wearing paper hats.
The youngsters gathered outside Fairthorne Manor, Curdridge, during a festival for 1,500 young carers who have to look after a seriously ill parent or sibling.
Festival co-ordinator Claire Percival said: “Everyone had to stand still for ten minutes. Once that had elapsed a confetti cannon went off and we all sang We Are The Champions.”
It will be several weeks before the record can be officially confirmed.
