Woman sexually assaulted on way home from shops
A WOMAN was sexually assaulted after walking home after being to the shops.
The 41-year-old victim was attacked between 9.55pm and 10.05pm in Montgomery Avenue, Totton, on Sunday.
She was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted, but managed to fight the man off.
He then ran away in the direction of Water Lane.
The attacker is as 6ft tall, of medium build and with short hair.
Investigating officer, PC Miles Wilson, said: “This is thankfully a rare occurrence in this busy area. The woman was unhurt but obviously shaken and upset by the assault.
“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously? Did you see a man fitting this description?
“We’d like to hear from you if you have any information.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Wilson on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
