Armed gang targets Southampton home

Daily Echo: Homeowners held at knife point during burglary Homeowners held at knife point during burglary

A GANG of armed burglars broke into a Southampton home before demanding cash at knifepoint.

The raiders escaped with £1,000 and an iPhone 4 after they ordered the two male occupants, both aged 22, to open a safe inside the home.

The victims were left with minor wounds as a result of the attack that happened last Thursday, the details of which have only just been released by Hampshire police.

It is not known how the burglars managed to get into the property at The Dell complex in the centre of Southampton.

The burglars are described as all being in their mid 20s. One had a pencil thin ginger moustache and goatee beard, approx 5ft 9 inches tall and of medium build. Grey hooded top pulled up over head. This man had the knife and committed the assaults.

His accomplice was of a lanky build, over 6ft tall, navy blue zip up hoodie, pulled tight around his face with strings, wearing dark denim tight jeans.

A third attacker was over 6ft, with stubble, wearing a navy zip up hoodie pulled up over his head with a pattern across front.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around 3am on Thursday, June 28 when the incident happened to contact them. They’d also like to hear from anyone who recognises the descriptions of the men involved or has any other information about the crime.

They are asked to call Detective Constable Patrick Coughlin at Shirley Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

smells a bit fishy to me.
How did they know how to get into the flats, how did they know they had a safe.
I have been in those flats before and the few I have been into had cctv at the doors, they must have known this too to hide their face?
