ANDOVER’S Armed Forces Day (AAFD) took place on Sunday in Vigo Road Recreation Ground as the town showed its support for servicemen and women past and present.
Chairman of the AAFD, Paul Johnson, thanked the crowds who turned out for the event and was humbled by the support it received.
Mr Johnson said: “The support we got from the public was fantastic and we want to thank them especially given that the weather remained undecided!”
The showpiece event was the drop by the Red Devils of the Parachute Regiment, but their show was nearly called off due to the weather.
