AROUND 60 people attended a public meeting to hear about the impact of a Hampshire motocross circuit now it has won permanent planning permission.

After nearly a decade of controversy operators can use the track at Three Maids Hill near Winchester all year round. Racing restarted on June 17, the meeting heard.

Cllr Stephen Godfrey, chairman of the Three Maids Motocross Action Group, said: “Residents are reacquainting themselves with the noise and the impact on their lives and some are finding it very difficult to do that. There is a lot of anguish. We are lucky the weather has been favourable with blustery winds and quite damp so no dust problems.”

Winchester City Council approved year-round motocross on the site in March.
