FIREFIGHTERS from across south Hampshire battled a major blaze this afternoon in the New Forest.

Crews from St Mary’s and Redbridge fire stations in Southampton, Eastleigh and from Lyndhurst attended the fire in an L-shaped farm building in Woodlands Road, Netley Marsh, from 11.43am.

They brought it under control by 1.30pm but by then70 per cent of the building had been destroyed.

Firefighters remain on site to make sure the fire is properly out.

No-one was injured.
