Netley Marsh Steam Fair cancelled due to poor weather

One of Hampshire's most popular annual shows has been cancelled.
Organisers of the Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show have pulled the plug on this year's event, due to adverse weather conditions.
The event had been due to run on Friday July 20, but organisers have taken the decision to abandon the event, with no sign of the weather improving during the next week.
Spokesperson for the event, Tony Greenham, said “The ground conditions at this time have made much of the site impassable to allow the show to be prepared and built up.
“With no let up in the weather for the next week, any possibility of completing the preparation has been ruled out.”
Mr Greenham added that the financial losses incurred by the cancellation “have not yet been established.”
He also said that no plans had been made to re-arrange the event.
