“WE’RE going nowhere” - that’s the message from a Southampton pre-school based next to a closure-threatened public swimming pool.

As reported, city council bosses have announced controversial plans to shut the loss-making Oaklands Swimming Pool in Lordshill, saving the £235,000 subsidy spent on the facility each year.

But the move has caused some public uncertainty over the future of Oasis Pre-School, which is based at the Fairisle Road site, and with limited spaces for September still available, bosses have moved to clarify the nursery is staying.

Pre-school manager Alex Tarling said: “We can assure parents that we are not only staying open, but staying open from 9am until 3.30pm every day and we have been given approval to expand to 40 children.”

bosses have moved to clarify the nursery is staying.?
Is that Nursery bosses or Council?
If Council that means it's shutting as well as didn't they say there would be no cuts to services?
They have made & broken ( as soon as made)promises to nearly everyone in this city so please don't trust them

Dont trust anything that involves Southampton City Council as they really do not care how anyone will suffer due to the decisions made in any cutbacks. We are only numbers that make up figures that leads to cost and expense. They are only interested in meeting targets and there is no reasoning with these Heartless and Overpaid Pen Pushers or even any compromise, however small it be! I Wouldnt sleep at night with shame and guilt not to mention worried as to the consequences of the decisions they have made!!! SHAME ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!!!
