BLUE Square Bet South outfit Eastleigh will follow tomorrow’s Family Open Day with an evening with ex-Saints star Ted MacDougall later this month.

The 65-year-old is jetting over from his home in America and will talk about his career in football which also included spells with Manchester United, West Ham and Norwich City and seven Scotland international caps.

McDougall was a prolific goalscorer, banging in 256 goals in 535 League appearances.

He joined Saints for £50,000 in 1976, scoring an impressive 23 goals in 36 games in his first season playing alongside Phil Boyer.

McDougall rejoined Bournemouth in 1978 and, in the twilight of his career, had spells with Salisbury City, Poole Town, AFC Totton and Gosport Borough.

He later returned to the English game in 1998 as a scout for Alan Ball’s Portsmouth.

McDougall’s Eastleigh visit takes place on Thursday, July 26 (8pm) with the £5 entry fee going towards ground improvements at the Silverlake Stadium.

There will be a question and answer session afterwards and food available at the bar.

Preparations, meanwhile, are well under way for tomorrow’s Family Open Day at the Silverlake (10am-2pm).

Ian Baird’s promotion-hungry squad has been boosted this week by the arrival of striker/right winger Moses Ademola from Woking, taking the number of summer arrivals to nine.

Fans can tomorrow watch the new-look first-team squad in an open training session and have unlimited access to the Silverlake.

There will be a chance to pose for photos with the Hampshire FA Senior Cup, won by the Spitfires at St Mary’s in May.

With a large number of local businesses supporting the event, it should be a great day out for the whole family with stalls, live music, a bouncy castle, stilt walkers, jugglers, fire eaters, a bungee run, face painting and lots more.

Eastleigh FC Juniors will be officially launched to attract the next generation of supporters as the club set out on an exciting journey which will hopefully lead them into the Football League.

The young guns will have their own training session followed by a match against the first team, which should prove the highlight of the day.

Fans can get in on the action too with a penalty shootout between the Supporters’ Club and five members of the first-team squad.
