A COMMUNITY association has been given a grant of £6,250.
The Brookvale group was awarded the funds by Hampshire County Council’s (HCC) Community Buildings Benefit.
The grants, agreed by Councillor Keith Chapman at his decision day meeting on July 6, aim to help community associations make improvements to better meet the needs of their local community, through projects such as roof repairs or upgrades to heating and kitchen facilities.
Cllr Chapman, executive member for culture and recreation at HCC, said: “Community organisations are vital in providing local people with a range of services that benefit the whole community. These grants can help facilitate activities and events to bring together people of all ages.
“Hampshire County Council’s contributions help to safeguard the future of these groups, ensure they can continue their valuable work and maintain their equipment and facilities.”
Four other community groups in the county were also awarded funding, totalling £16,024.
