A HEAVILY pregnant woman was robbed at knifepoint as she pushed her young son in his buggy along a Southampton road.

The 32-year-old was walking with a man, aged 30, when a motorcyclist pulled up and blocked their path.

A passenger on the back of the black bike got off, pulled out a flick knife and demanded their property.

He took an Apple iPhone 4S, a grey Sony laptop in a grey bag, a Nikon D90 digital camera inside its bag and a wallet.

The robbery happened in the area of St Mary’s Road and Lyon Street, not far from the Royal South Hants Hospital.

Now detectives are appealing for help in tracing those responsible.

They say the motorbike rider was wearing a large black helmet, black jacket and dark blue jeans while his accomplice was a short white man who was wearing a white cap, grey jacket and dark blue jeans.

Detective Constable John Goulbourne said: “This was a very serious offence. The robbers appeared intent on using violence unless property was handed over. We need to hear from anyone who noticed this couple and their child and a motorcycle which blocked their path. You may have vital information to help the investigation.

He added: “We also need to hear from anyone who was offered the stolen property or who found a discarded small brown wallet.”
