A DOUBLE decker bus ended up in a ditch close to Paulton’s Park following a crash.
The incident happened when a car was in collision with the Wiltshire and Dorset X7 service from Salisbury to Southampton , on the A36 close to the Paulton’s Park entrance at Ower.
It ended up in the ditch at a 45 degree angle.
Eight passengers on the bus were injured – the youngest was a 17-year-old, but the others were all adults.
Six were walking wounded but one passenger sustained a broken collarbone and another was thought to have more serious injuries and was taken out on a spinal board – these injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
The driver of the bus, a 62-year-old from Laverstock, in Salisbury, was unhurt, but the driver of the Renault Espace, a 42-year-old woman from London was injured though not seriously.
Both vehicles were badly damaged.
The road was closed following the incident, at around 6.30pm on Friday, while emergency services were at the scene.
Police are investigating and witnesses are asked to call PC Colin Green in the Roads Policing Unit at Totton on 101.
