ARSONISTS are thought to be behind a blaze which broke out in a hay field in a Hampshire village this morning.

Fire crews from Fareham were called to a field in Chilling Lane, Warsash at around 4am amid reports the harvest was burning.

They sent a water carrier and specialist Land Rover to the scene as they dampened the 12 metre long patch of hay which had recently been cut ready for collection.

The patch was 12 metres long - how wide was it? it would have to be very wide to be anything newsworthy.
