Chris Mears and Nick Robinson-Baker
Southampton Diving Academy's Chris Mears finished fifth in the 3m springboard synchro final alongside Nick Robinson-Baker this afternoon.
The pair, who were never considered serious medal hopes, turned in an excellent display in the Aquatics Centre to finish just outside the top three.
Mears and Robinson-Baker were consistent throughout, steadily increasing their score with every round, posting a total of 432.60.
China claimed gold with an imperious display, while Russia took the silver and USA edged out Ukraine for the bronze.
