Sholing got the better of ambitious Eastleigh 3-2 in last night's friendly at the Silverlake Arena - a Lee Wort cracker turning the game in favour of the Boatmen.

The Blue Square Bet South visitors dominated the first half, but were caught on the break when Byron Mason slammed home a right-foot shot from 20 yards.

Seven minutes later Moses Ademola levelled for the Spitfires and Eastleigh looked to be on their way to victory when Jai Reason unleashed a powerful drive past keeper Matt Brown - his fourth goal in as many pre-season games.

But Sholing got spectacularly back on terms on 48 minutes when Wort slammed home a beauty on the angle from 30 yards, giving keeper Jack Dovey no chance.

And Dave Diaper's men claimed victory just after the hour when Barry Mason scored from the spot following a foul by Andy Forbes.

The result gives Sholing a huge boost ahead of the new Evo-Stik Southern One South & West season.
