POLICE are tonight appealing for help to find a missing Southampton man.

Jeff Johnson, 42, was reported missing by his family this afternoon.

He is believed to be in the Newport, Carisbrooke or Parkhurst area of the Isle of Wight.

Air and ground searchers, including members of the Isle of Wight's Search and Rescue team (WightSAR), are continuing for him this evening.

Mr Johnson is described as white, 5ft 9in, stocky build, greying thinning short hair and green eyes.

Witnesses or anyone with information about his whereabouts should ring 999 or 101.
