Warning to pranksters
FIREFIGHTERS have warned pranksters to think of the consequences before taking part in potentially dangerous dares after a major emergency operation was launched last night, wasting the precious time of the emergency services.
Two crews from Hightown and two from Eastleigh , along with four police cars and at least two coastguard units were sent to Weston Shore after three men were spotted waist deep in the water.
But when the emergency services got there, just before 8.30pm, it turned out that the three men, two aged in their teens, were not in any trouble and told police that it was a dare that had gone too far.

I never received the attention of 4 fire crews 4 police cars & 2 Coastguard units!
Seems a bit of an overkill response to me. No wonder the emergency services cost so much!

Why dont Esso Fawley & BP Hamble clean it up?
Waste of a beach, 1000's of people from southampton go to Bournemouth every summer when we could have a perfectly good beach on our doorsteps if it was cleaned up?

Hmm. It's hot, it's summer and there are probably people standing waste deep in water near every beach in the country.
Who was really wasting the time of the emergency services ?
The three people standing in the water or the person who dialled 999 ?
