Harbour fees

Harbour fees Harbour fees

HARBOUR dues, paid annually to the Harbour Authority by River Hamble boat users will rise by two per cent to cover rising costs, if proposals are accepted.

The price of mid-stream moorings would go up from £17.45 to £17.80 in January 2013, if approved.

I bet these rising costs are associated purely with the rising cost of collecting the mooring fees and paying for the harbour masters to patrol up and down the river in their shiny little boats to see that everyone has paid. Scrap the mooring fees entirely and there would be no costs.

Meanwhile in the real world rents are rising as are rates, Council taxes, fuel, and the general cost of living.
Mistergrimsdale, mooring costs money because someone has to maintain the moorings and river, in line with your logic maybe SCC should abolish parking fees so drivers dont have to pay for traffic wardens.
